On 25/04/04 The Gracie European Invitational Tournament 2004 took place
at the National Exhibition Center in Birmingham, England. Dean Taylor
Jiu Jitsu School entered one student, Ian (Monkian) Elliott. Ian, who
has been studying Jiu Jitsu with Dean for three and a half years, fought
his way to the final match of the White belt Adult Heavy Weight Division.
Ian displayed patience and skill in the final, reversing the match in
the last minute, to score with the sweep, guard pass and mount, for a
convincing win and to take the Gold medal.
