The Origin of the Rickson Gracie Logo

The concept behind the design of the Rickson Gracie Logo is the triangle. Imagine a three dimensional triangle, or triangular pyramid, it can be rolled to all directions and will always come to rest in a solid position. This also represents the foundation of Jiu-Jitsu — to maintain balance with perfect base.

With this as the basic idea, Rickson Gracie, took the design a step further in order to represent not only the basis of Jiu-Jitsu, but also our constant journey in developing the body, mind and spirit. The shape of the triangle helps to depict the balance and neverending movement between them. The purpose of the logo is to serve as a reminder of this concept.
